LaQianya Thompson Huynh


LaQianya Thompson Huynh, America's modern, talented, innovative romantic poet, playwright, producer, performing artist, play writer and author, is a proud member of the Author’s Guild, Association of Writers & Writing Programs (AWP), Poets House, Poetry Society of America (PSA), National Association of Independent Writers & Editors (NAIWE) and the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA).


As a young child, she was a happy- go- lucky kind of girl that loved to dance with a curious mind. If she wasn't playing, she was reading books, flash dancing, drawing, coloring, and getting into mischief while discovering the sad outcomes of a spanking. At age 8, her family relocated to Bainbridge, Georgia to care for her maternal grandparents. Life as she knew it changed. Learning to adjust to the countryside and coming to terms with her parents failed marriage, made a huge impact in her adolescent years. In turn, creating a hunger for an education and a deep appreciation for people, art and love. However, LaQianya continues to learn, love and accept the many challenges life offers her with a positive attitude.

LaQianya enjoys dancing Argentine Tango, Contra, Israeli Folk, Lindy, Salsa, East Coast, and West Coast Swing. The author also enjoys spending time with family and friends, international travel, gardening, biking, reading books, photography, playing concert xylophone, bass guitar, tambourine, maracas, violin, and playing the Bodhran (Irish Drum).

Aside from being an author, LaQianya’s greatest joy is to humbly care for people and make a positive impact in their lives. LaQianya in part accomplishes this by working for a Family Practice as a National Certified Medical Assistant. Her specialty certificates for medical assistants include: mental health, minor surgery, laboratory methods, geriatrics, nutrition, podiatry, ophthalmology, grief awareness, obstetrics and gynecology.

On June 4, 1996 LaQianya graduated with honors and later relocated to Gainesville, Florida. In June of 2004, LaQianya earned an Associate of Science in Medical Assisting at City College. In 2007, LaQianya studied project management and business management at City College and in 2008, transferred to Ashford University to earn BA credits in health care management, health administration, and health care studies. LaQianya’s motto is to live every day like it is your last. She truly believes that love from the heart makes you stronger. You never know if a single word or a simple smile could make a difference in someone's life. Most importantly, the author encourages you all to reach for the stars and always try your best in all of your endeavors!
